Animals Nuts and Bacon
The past few days I have spent painting the cabin, all finished now so the rain can come I don't mind its all protected
The electrician has been and measured up he starts on Sunday.
Today has been been spent catching up on other chores that were shelved until I had finished the cabin, the animals have all been cleaned out and have fresh bedding, while I worked away they enjoyed the sunshine
Alpacas stretched out in the sun relaxing
pigs enjoying a mud bath
Lambert stayed in a shady corner the chooks and duckies also took to the shade.
I don't think we have much more of this fine weather to come we have thunderstorms forecast.
I harvested our Almonds only a handful but some is better than none, i noticed the other day the husks were starting to split
17 nuts in total, not enough to do anything with but I shall enjoy them all the same
This is the inside of the husk, showing the nut, I have left them in the greenhouse to finish off drying out.
Drying out also is the bacon
Here it is out of the cure all washed ready to be wrapped
All wrapped up in muslin hanging in the utility room at the back it will remain there for about five days or even a bit longer then it will be ready to slice and fry.
That's me up to date again I think.
