Going All Out Tropical
Still blustery here today although only the odd shower with intermittent sunshine, its mild enough to have the back door open all day.
A large box arrived with the delivery man, I knew instantly what it was
My lovely palms and banana plants, I have been waiting for these to arrive, they will all be in pots in the garden so they can be overwintered in the tunnel, although they will survive the cold its the wind that will damage them so I wont be taking the risk.
The Palms are
Hardy Cotton (Washingtonia)
Hardy Fan Trachycarpus
Chamaerops Humilis Cerifera
2 Hardy Canary Island Date
The Banana's are Musa Basjoo and Musella Lasiocarpa
In the same order came this
Kiwi Solissimo that is self fertile on the right and 2 Corydalis Blue Line perennial plants.
Then to top it all they sent me a free members gift
So plenty to keep me busy, I am not holding out much hope for the free growing kits they have been probably been hanging about in a store room for ages but we will give them a go.
I took Sol down into the forest this afternoon
He had a great time sniffing everything out, the views across the valley were brilliant
That's the entrance to my drive way over there
Here let me zoom in for you
Sol is now fast asleep dreaming of the smells he found, the sun is shining again and I have been busy in the kitchen
Making Baked Beans but I will share that with you tomorrow :-)
